The Selangor Aerospace Industry
Selangor stands out as a hub of aerospace activity in Malaysia, providing proactive support for the industry's growth. The state is home to 67% of Malaysia's aerospace companies, counting 240 aerospace organisations and over 20 institutions of higher learning related to the sector.
Key initiatives include the 10-year Subang Airport Regeneration Plan, including a new city airport terminal to complement Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Sepang. This development of Subang also aims to grow new business segments for regional and narrow-body jets. The state will be hosting the Selangor Aviation Show in September 2024, focusing on Business Aviation & General Aviation.
In the emerging field of UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems) and AAM (Advanced Air Mobility), the Selangor state government is investing in cutting-edge technologies to position Selangor as Malaysia's first drone port and UAS/AAM-friendly state.
