In the first two years of the pandemic, international passenger traffic declined by over 95% in Southeast Asia.

While traffic improved over the last six months, the initial phase of the recovery was slow and modest. April 2022 represents the start of a new and much more promising phase in the recovery as borders have finally fully reopened, leading to a spike in international travel and a brighter outlook for the industry. But it could be several months before the market is 50% recovered and it could be several years before the market is fully recovered.

What will the recovery curve look like, how have international travel patterns changed and what does the industry need to do to adapt to these changes and the 'new norm'?
