Pang Yong Kiang was appointed General Manager of both Pratt & Whitney Component Solutions ( PWCS ), a 100% Pratt & Whitney owned repair component shop and Component Aerospace Services ( CAS ), a joint venture between Pratt & Whitney ( PW ) and Singapore Airlines Engineering Company ( SIAEC ) in November 2023. In this role, he serves as the overall in charge of both repair units covering all aspects of the business as well as the future growth of both entities. Prior to this role, Pang was the Deputy General Manager of both shops and oversaw the movement of CAS into its current location in late 2022.
Pang started his career in Eagle Services ASIA Ptd Ltd ( a joint venture between PW and SIAEC ) in 2005 as an Operations Engineer and worked his way up the career ladder over the years before his posting to USA. During his pre-USA stint, he progressed to the role of Operations Manager of various operational areas, led the formation of a new engineering team and worked extensively on business transformation.
He then spent 2 years in Pratt and Whitney’s headquarters in Connecticut, USA where he took on the role of Sales Analyst in the Aftermarket Sales department assisting the various campaign managers in assessing overhaul deals and profitability. He also took on the role of Business Development ( Repair Industrialization ) for the PW1100G-JM ( GTF ) where he utilized his engine center experience to help set up repair capabilities for the GTF. His course of work covers sites in USA, UK, Poland and Germany.
Upon his return to Singapore, Pang took on the role of New Product Introduction Manager to bring the GTF into ESA and subsequently assumed the role of Operations Senior Manager running the PW4000 engine line. He then took over the responsibilities of Customer Support Associate Director and interacted with various airlines operating the PW4000 and GTF engines around the world.
Pang holds an MBA from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (Asia) and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from the National University of Singapore.
In his free time, Pang participates in triathlons, flies for leisure ( FAA PPL ) and pursues the art of chinese calligraphy.
