Inter Airport Southeast Asia 2023 |
|
AAIS was pleased to be a part of the inaugural Inter Airport Southeast Asia in Singapore held from 1-3 March 2023. Preparations for the event began with an official kick-off in November 2022 at our seminar on ‘Developing a Sustainable Air Hub in Singapore’, featuring Mr Daniel Ng of CAAS and Ms Tan Yen Ling of SATS. AAIS coordinated the Singapore Pavilion and apart from administering the grants from Enterprise Singapore, our team visited the exhibitors to understand their interests in the lead-up to the show. We also worked with show organisers on curating speakers for the conference, and presented an exhibitor exclusive on the ‘Aviation Landscape – Singapore’. AAIS also moderated the ‘In conversation with CAAS’ session on Day 1 of the conference featuring Angela Ng, Director (Aviation Industry).
The release of the latest issue of Aerospace Singapore magazine, Vol 16 No1, was timed to coincide with the show, with the feature on ‘Future Air Hub’ penned by AAIS member and contributor, Alton Aviation Consultancy. The magazine also contained a special supplement highlighting the Singapore Pavilion exhibitor profiles. As a media ambassador for the show we also took pre-show and on-site media interviews to boost the Singapore aviation and AAIS brands. |

Aerospace Singapore Feature: Future Air Hub
Air hubs have been a vital component of the aviation industry for decades, serving as central points in the implementation of hub-and-spoke airline models. The COVID-19 pandemic, however, undermined the basis of this notion, as international travel demand plummeted and protocols favoured point-to-point travel for commercial air passengers.
As the aviation industry looks towards recovery and the future, air hubs will face new challenges and opportunities. In this Aerospace Singapore feature, Alton Aviation Consultancy explains and illustrates the continued importance of air hubs in the post-pandemic era. The fundamental drivers, emerging trends and future-proofing strategies that will shape successful air hubs will also be explored. |
