The AAIS Annual General Meeting will be held in person on 20 October (Friday) from 9.30am to 11.00am at the WingsOverAsia Lounge in Seletar.
This is an election year for the AAIS Management Committee. Details regarding nominations for this committee have been disseminated to eligible Main and Alternate representatives of member companies. Do note that only Charter and Ordinary Members of AAIS can nominate candidates for election.
Please email the completed nomination form to Ms Stephanie Lo (stephanie_lo@aais.org.sg) and RSVP to attend the AGM by 5 October 2023, 12PM. Should the Main and Alternate representatives be unavailable, a proxy can be nominated. |

Safety Culture Survey Findings Released at Aviation Safety Forum
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) held its annual Aviation Safety Forum on 30 August 2023. At the event, CAAS released findings from the inaugural Singapore Aviation Sector Safety Culture Survey - the first aviation sector-wide longitudinal safety culture survey to monitor and strengthen aviation safety culture in Singapore. The survey results provide aviation companies with insights into how safety is perceived, valued and prioritised by their workers, identify areas for improvement and guide safety enhancement initiatives.

ICCAIA Newsletter, Summer 2023
The latest edition of the ICCAIA newsletter (Summer 2023 issue) provides updates on several important ICAO events, including the ICAO Advanced Air Mobility Study Group, the Industry Consultative Forum on alternative propulsion systems, as well as updates from the Integrated Communication, Navigation, Surveillance and Spectrum (ICNSS) Task Force. |

Aerospace Partners' Golf Tournament 2023 |

The Aerospace Partners’ Golf Tournament co-organised by AAIS was held at Tanah Merah Country Club Tampines Course on 25 August 2023. Despite a delay in tee-off due to unfavourable weather, participants enjoyed a good game through the afternoon. A highlight of the dinner programme was the art auction with participants bidding for unique artworks by CPAS beneficiaries. On behalf of the APGT Organising Committee, we thank all participants, sponsors, donors and volunteers for their generosity and outstanding support. Understanding Procedural Drift and its Effects
As part of our efforts to raise awareness and promote aviation safety, AAIS organised a seminar on “Understanding Procedural Drift and its Effects” to uncover and discuss the underlying causes and implications of procedural drift in aviation maintenance. Held on 14 August, the session featured Mr Jason Bok, VP Quality & Safety for Commercial Aerospace at ST Engineering Aerospace, who covered factors contributing to procedural drift as well as preventive and corrective actions that can be developed to counter this challenge. |

Visit by ROK SMEs and Startups Agency
AAIS was pleased to welcome Mr Park Jeong Yeol, Chief Audit Executive of the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME), to Seletar Aerospace Park on 7 September 2023. The visit provided an excellent opportunity to engage in discussions about the recovery of the aviation and aerospace sectors and the ongoing development of Seletar Aerospace Park. Discussions also touched on potential avenues for cooperation with KOSME, and the growing community of Korean SMEs and startups. |

eVTOLS: A Revolution in Aerial Mobility?
AAIS supported a webinar held by the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS) on 5 September on the development of the electric-powered vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft industry. Chris Leck from RSIS served as the moderator, with panellists including Derek Cheng (Vertical Aerospace), Andrew Cummins (Archer Aviation), Damian Kysely (Skyports Infrastructure), and Prof. James Wang (NTU). The panel collectively envisioned Singapore as a frontrunner in adopting eVTOLs for intra and intercity flights and discussed broader challenges in operations. |
