US TARIFF ANNOUNCEMENT – INDUSTRY SURVEY
The 'Liberation Day' tariffs announced by the US and subsequent retaliatory tariff announcements may have significant implications for Singapore’s aerospace sector, including manufacturing and MRO activities. While full details are still emerging, the Singapore government is actively monitoring the situation.
AAIS understands that agencies have begun engaging with the US Administration to seek clarification and convey industry concerns. To support this effort and collaboration with EDB, we have been gathering feedback from the aerospace community. The inputs will help inform an accurate industry-level assessment and strengthen ongoing government engagement.
If you have yet to do so, please take a few minutes to complete the survey at the link below. All responses will be kept strictly confidential. |
|
If you are unable to access the link, please reach out to the Secretariat via ann@aais.org.sg, and we will provide the questions directly. |

Member Support and Activities
The full impact of recent geopolitical and economic developments on the aerospace MRO and manufacturing supply chain will take time to unfold. In the meantime, AAIS remains committed to supporting our members through this evolving landscape.
To help our community stay informed and prepared, AAIS will continue to organise platforms and activities for members to discuss, exchange insights and best practices, and actively explore new markets and opportunities.
Below are some upcoming events to take note of. Do save the dates and ensure emails from our domain aais.org.sg are reaching you (i.e. whitelisted and not bouncing) to stay informed of event details and registration links.

Jobs Development Partners (JDP) Programme – Aerospace Sector Outcomes
The JDP Advisory Programme, administered by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), concluded on 31 March 2025. The 3-year initiative provided consultancy support to help SMEs drive transformation, strengthen capabilities, and redesign jobs for future needs.
As a programme partner, AAIS deployed an Industry Transformation Advisor (ITA) to work directly with companies in the aerospace and adjacent sectors to identify gaps, co-develop solutions, and implement change.
Under the guidance of our ITA, Mr Loh Wai Cheong, 54 SMEs undertook transformation audits and received tailored recommendations. These efforts led to the redesign of over 100 roles and the creation of new job opportunities across the industry.
As the programme concludes, AAIS extends our heartfelt thanks to Mr Loh for his dedication and expertise. His contributions have made a lasting impact on the resilience and growth of aerospace SMEs, with benefits that will carry forward well beyond the programme’s completion. |
