HIGHLIGHTS
Appointment of AAIS Management Committee Office Bearers and Co-Opted Members

At the Annual General Meeting held on 20 October, AAIS members elected 12 Management Committee members in accordance to the Constitution, consisting 1 President, 2 Vice-Presidents and 9 Management Committee members.

The elected Management Committee members convened its first meeting on 9 November 2023, where MC elected and unanimously confirmed the appointment of office bearers for the term of 2023/2025 . The MC also made the decision to co-opt 3 members who will serve for a 1-year term until the next AGM.

AAIS is pleased to introduce the elected Management Committee members and office bearers.

AAIS 20th Anniversary Gala Dinner

AAIS marked the culmination of its 20th Anniversary activities with an industry Gala Dinner held on 9 November 2023. Mr Alvin Tan, Minister of State at the Ministry of Trade & Industry and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, graced the occasion as the evening’s guest-of-honour. The Gala event was also attended by senior representatives from AAIS membership, industry professionals and the Association’s partners.

At the Gala Dinner,
  • AAIS launched "Propel", a commemorative book tracing the beginnings, rise and evolution of Singapore's aviation and aerospace industries.
  • Announced the Promising Entrepreneurs Programme, a new year-long programme specially tailored by AAIS for the next generation of aerospace SME leaders.

AAIS took pride in celebrating its 20th Anniversary in the presence of members who were also marking significant milestones of their own. The Association also recognised and honoured long-standing members which have demonstrated unwavering support and commitment for 15 years and more.

Launch of AAIS Commemorative Book, PROPEL

A highlight of the recent AAIS anniversary Gala Dinner was the unveiling of a special commemorative publication by AAIS, titled, "Propel". The event began with a trailer for the publication featuring Mr Goh Yong Kiat, author of the book's main narrative. On stage, Mr Alvin Tan, Minister of State for Trade & Industry and Community, Culture & Youth, and AAIS President Mr Wong Yue Jeen unveiled the cover of the publication, alongside past presidents of AAIS, Mr Oh Wee Khoon (AAIS President 2003-2006) and Mr Philip Quek (AAIS President 2016 – 2021). The event was also graced by book contributors and sponsors which were represented by senior executives in a group photo on stage.

AAIS is proud to celebrate the milestones that have propelled the Singapore aerospace and aviation industries into the next frontier with the launch of this meaningful book. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the authors, sponsors and contributors and thank all industry members for their support of the book.

AAIS Promising Entrepreneurs Programme (PEP)

As part of our commitment to propelling industry growth and nurturing the next generation of leaders in the aerospace sector, AAIS announced the inauguration of the Promising Entrepreneurs Programme (PEP) at its Anniversary Gala dinner. Tailored by AAIS, the PEP is a year-long programme that aims to provide next-generation SME leaders with the essential knowledge and skills to navigate the aerospace market and landscape. Going beyond theory, the PEP offers an immersive journey with industry visits, workshops, and curated activities for participants to gain an understanding and appreciation for the range of opportunities in the industry and network with OEMs, MNCs and fellow young leaders.

2nd EU-Asia UAS/UAM Symposium

The second edition of the EU-Asia Symposium on UAS/UAM co-organised by EASA and CAAS was held from 7 to 11 November 2024 in Singapore. Experts and representatives from Asia-Pacific civil aviation authorities gathered to discuss and tackle the common regulatory and operational challenges to integrate drones and air taxis into the aviation system in a safe manner. AAIS and local industry players were once again invited to present and participate in the sessions on 9 and 10 November 2023. The event saw extensive exchanges covering, among others:

Singapore Airshow 2024 - AAIS Activities

Singapore Airshow will be back from 20 to 25 February 2024 at the Changi Exhibition Centre. The event will feature a series of strategic forums, exhibitions and events. Take the opportunity to connect with industry leaders, government and industry procure and contribute to dialogues, solutions and strategies to shape the future of the global aviation and aerospace industry. 

CONNECT: Singapore Pavilion
The Singapore Pavilion, coordinated by AAIS and marketed by Experia Events, returns again to showcase the capabilities of Singapore enterprises. Take the opportunity to connect with the 19 Singapore Pavilion exhibitors as well as visiting delegations. AAIS Members are invited to mark your calendars for a networking session happening onsite on 21 February 2023 from 12.00pm to 1.30pm.

Call for Papers: Singapore Aerospace Technology and Engineering Conference (SATEC 2024)

The Singapore Aerospace Technology and Engineering Conference (SATEC) 2024 will be held on 21 February 2024 in conjunction with the Singapore Air Show. Co-organised by the Republic of Singapore Air Force, Air Engineering & Logistics Department (RSAF, AELD) and the Singapore Institute of Aerospace Engineers (SIAE). SATEC provides a platform for engineers and researchers from government, defence, industry and academia to present and discuss key developments and advancements in aerospace technology and engineering. 

The call for papers for SATEC 2024 is open to all AAIS members. With the theme "Thinking of the New Era of Aerospace Technologies", SATEC 2024 is interested in papers that cover
  • The Future of Maintenance;
  • Green Aerospace;
  • Smart Airports;
  • Advanced Aerospace Technologies; and
  • Unmanned Technologies

The deadline for submission is 15 December 2023 (Friday).
