Passenger Traffic and Industry Output Data
Singapore's aerospace sector grew 4.9% in December 2023 compared to a year ago, with higher demand for aircraft parts and more MRO jobs from commercial airlines on the back of strong air travel demand globally. According to preliminary data from the Singapore Economic Development Board (EDB), the output of the aerospace sector expanded by 16.0% in 2023 compared to a year before. The aerospace and marine & offshore sectors stand out as areas of positive growth within a manufacturing sector that largely saw a year-on-year contraction. |
|
Changi Airport’s full-year 2023 passenger traffic has recovered to 86% of pre-Covid levels, boosted by strong Q4 growth passenger traffic at Changi crossed 90% recovery with 16.1 million passenger movements recorded. Almost 90% of pre-Covid city links have been restored to-date, with Changi Airport now the 5th busiest airport in the world by seat capacity. The top five passenger markets for the year were Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, Thailand and India. Among Changi’s top 10 markets, China, Japan and South Korea were the fastest growing compared to 2022.
