SG UAS Community Updates: February 2025
Singapore Eases Unmanned Aircraft (UA) Regulations to Boost Industry Growth

Starting February 14, Singapore will lift the limit on the number of unmanned aircraft (UA) over 250g that individuals or companies can register, simplify airspace clearance, and allow higher UA flight altitudes. Announced by the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) on January 31, these changes aim to support the growth of the UA industry while maintaining safety and security, benefiting commercial operators and enthusiasts who own multiple UAs.

Drones-as-a-Service is transforming industries, offering sustainable and cost-effective solutions for dull, difficult and dangerous tasks. While drones enhance safety by operating in hazardous environments, operational risks remain a key consideration.

The Transport Safety Investigation Bureau (TSIB) conducts air safety investigations in accordance with Singapore’s Transport Safety Investigations Act, relevant regulations, and ICAO Annex 13. The sole objective of TSIB’s air safety investigations is the prevention of aviation accidents and incidents, not to assign blame. TSIB may also provide safety recommendations as part of their investigation and report.

Join us for an insightful session with a TSIB expert, where we’ll explore TSIB’s role in air accident investigations and the critical safety aspects of drone operations. Participate in discussions, network with industry peers and gain valuable insights into best practices for safe operations in a growing industry.
