AAIS Celebrates its 20th Anniversary
AAIS marked the culmination of its 20th Anniversary activities with an industry Gala Dinner held on 9 November 2023. Mr Alvin Tan, Minister of State at the Ministry of Trade & Industry and Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, graced the occasion as the evening’s guest-of-honour. The Gala event was also attended by senior representatives from AAIS membership, industry professionals and the Association’s partners.
At the Gala Dinner, - AAIS launched "Propel", a commemorative book tracing the beginnings, rise and evolution of Singapore's aviation and aerospace industries.
- Announced the Promising Entrepreneurs Programme, a new year-long programme specially tailored by AAIS for the next generation of aerospace SME leaders.

AAIS Elects a New Management Committee
At our 21st Annual General Meeting held on 20 Oct 2023, the new MC for FY2023/2025 was elected. Mr Wong Yue Jeen of SIA Engineering Co was returned as President, with Mr Richard Wong of Pratt & Whitney and Mr Alex Feldman of Boeing elected as Vice Presidents. |

On 9 Nov 2023, CAAS initiated an inaugural meeting of regulators in the Asia-Pacific region on AAM and UAS. It was attended by representatives from 17 civil aviation authorities from the region, including from China, India, Japan, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea.
The meeting provided a platform for regulators "to come together to achieve three “A”s: first, raise awareness of new technologies and regulatory approaches and practices, second, facilitate alignment on approaches and practices, and third, support adoption of policies and regulations.
In his opening speech, Director-General Han Kok Juan said, "We will work towards developing a set of reference materials which regulators can consider, adapt and use to facilitate the commercial operations of advanced air mobility and implementation of complex UAS operations."

2nd EU-Asia UAS/UAM Symposium 7-11 Nov 2023
The 2nd EU-Asia UAS/UAM Symposium co-organised by EASA and CAAS was held from 7-11 Nov 2024 in Singapore. AAIS and local industry players were once again invited to present and participate in the sessions on 9 and 10 Oct 2023. Chaired by CAAS Senior Director and CTO Mr Tan Kah Han, the 2 days were an excellent time of exchange, learning and networking. Amongst other things, industry benefited from the summary of the discussions between regulators, and the opportunity to for dialogue with regulators.
