The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) is organising the 3rd ASEAN Sustainability Forum on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Air Transport Working Group meetings to be held in Singapore. The forum will be taking place on Wednesday 17 May 2023 from 1.00pm to 5.00pm in a hybrid format. It will bring together regulators and industry, to share experience in decarbonisation measures, with a view to encourage greater uptake of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
CAAS is inviting AAIS members to participate in the Sustainability Forum either in person (subject to a limit of 20 pax in view of the room capacity*) or virtually (online via Zoom). Interested members are invited to register to participate, indicating your preferred mode of attendance before the deadline of 27 April 2023, 12 noon.
The last Aerospace Day in 2021 was held virtually due to the pandemic. This year, Aerospace Day 2023 was back in full swing. Organised by AAIS, JTC, the 5 Polytechnics, ITE and e2i, the 4th Aerospace Day was held on 19 April 2023 at Seletar Aerospace Park.
In the morning, 1,500 polytechnic and ITE students were bussed down to Seletar Aerospace Park to begin a day of fun and excitement. Throughout the day, students were engaged in myriad activities ranging from career exhibition and talks, to workshops, and company visits. They also took part in an on-site amazing race and interacted with various companies through the race challenges. The day ended with a lucky draw, where winners walked away with attractive prizes like aircraft models sponsored by participating companies.
AAIS would like to thank all participating companies for an enriching and successful Aerospace Day 2023.

Aerospace Singapore InProfile: GE Aerospace
In November 2021, the General Electric Company (GE), a global multi-industry powerhouse with over 130-year history, announced plans to become three independent and publicly traded businesses focusing on healthcare, energy, and aviation. As of 3 January 2023, GE had already spun off its healthcare division and shared its plans to divest its energy business by early 2024. When this happens, the company that is now GE would change the name of its last remaining division to GE Aerospace to become “an aviation focused company shaping the future of flight”.
