New AAIS Vice-Presidents Elected at AGM
We are pleased to announce the election of our new Vice Presidents during the 22nd AAIS Annual General Meeting.
Congratulations to: - Mr Pang Yong Kiang of Pratt & Whitney, appointed as 1st Vice President, and
- Mr Raymond Lim of Airbus, appointed as 2nd Vice President.
They will serve the remainder of the two-year term of this Management Committee, which concludes at the next AGM in 2025. We invite all members to connect and warmly welcome them to their new roles. We look forward to their leadership and contributions to the Association and industry. |

Call for Feedback: ICAO Safety Management Panel Survey
The Safety Management Panel at ICAO is gathering input from various service providers to better understand the challenges organisations face when establishing the role of a Safety Manager for effective implementation and maintenance of a Safety Management System (SMS). Your feedback will help determine whether revisions to the current ICAO Standards are needed, along with identifying additional guidance or improvements to support the Safety Manager role.

Call for Participation: Talent Attraction & Retention Survey
The Global Aviation and Aerospace Skills Taskforce (GAAST), chaired by ICCAIA, is conducting a survey on talent attraction and retention in the sector. Results will contribute to discussions at the ICAO General Assembly next year and be shared as part of a toolkit for industry and regulators.
HR or recruitment managers of aviation and aerospace-related organisations are invited to participate in this survey, which aims to capture recruitment, retention, and development practices, as well as their effectiveness. Respondents who choose to identify themselves will receive the consolidated results and final outcomes from GAAST. Organisations may also opt to be showcased as case studies to highlight your successful programmes. The deadline for survey responses is 8 November 2024. |

AAIS Annual General Meeting 2024
The 22nd AAIS Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on 25 October 2024, bringing together members to reflect on a year of significant milestones and achievements. Key highlights included: - AAIS 20th anniversary celebrations, including a logo refresh and gala dinner
- Appointment by Workforce Singapore as a partner for the Career Conversion Programme (CCP) for Aerospace
- The successful launch and pilot run of the Promising Entrepreneurs Programme, for next-generation SME leaders.
- Our MOU with RSAF to enhance professional development of air force engineers
- Co-founding the Global Aerospace Cluster Partnership (GACP) alongside 60+ associations.
- Establishing the Singapore Space Community to address interest in the space sector.

Members were also treated to an insightful briefing on Singapore’s space industries by Mr Jonathan Hung, Executive Director of the Office for Space Technology & Industry (OSTIn).
During the AGM, we honoured two long-serving Management Committee members, Mr Richard Wong and Dr Kenneth Low, in recognition of their years of dedicated service to the association.

Aerospace Open Innovation Challenge Demo Day
16 October 2024 marked the culmination of the inaugural Aerospace Open Innovation Challenge (AOIC), with an inspiring Demo Day. Organised by JTC Corporation and Enterprise Singapore, supported by AAIS and EDB, AOIC was launched at Singapore Airshow in February. Seven leading aerospace companies shared 12 challenge statements in the areas of digitalisation, sustainability, and productivity. Over 130 technology providers responded with diverse and creative solutions. Ultimately, eight solutions were selected and presented at Demo Day, attended by more than 100 industry professionals. We congratulate everyone involved in this fruitful initiative and look forward to continue engendering an innovative aerospace community. |

GACP China International Cluster Exchange, in conjunction with (IASC) Leadership Summit 6-11 November 2024 | Shanghai, China
Since 2018, the IASC Leadership Summit has brought together global aviation leaders to explore business development opportunities and joint ventures. Participants have included leading airlines (such as Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, Juneyao, and Lufthansa), OEMs (including Airbus, Boeing, COMAC, Rolls-Royce, GE Aerospace, Embraer, and Leonardo), Tier 1 suppliers (such as Collins Aerospace, Honeywell, EATON, Safran, and Thales), and MROs (HAECO, ST Engineering, and BAESL).
As a co-founding member of the Global Aerospace Cluster Partnership (GACP), AAIS members are invited to participate in the GACP China International Cluster Exchange, which will be held during the 7th IASC Leadership Summit. This is a valuable opportunity to connect with aviation leaders, innovators, policymakers, and scholars. The International Aviation SME Solution of China (IASC), as the organiser of this event, will cover all accommodation and repatriation costs for GACP delegation members (excluding medical insurance).
